Colorado Technical University Online offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The college was founded in 1965 on the principles of providing students with studies they could use in their real world careers. They offer bachelor, master and doctorate degree programs in the field, with some of them requiring short (3.5 day) residencies on campus. The short residencies give students the chance to network, meet instructors and classmates face to face, and get hands on experience in their studies. Colorado Technical University Online also offers a degree completion program for those that have met the requirements of associate level required courses, allowing them to obtain their bachelor degree in about 2.5 years. In effort to help expedite the degree earning process, they will evaluate a students work history and transcripts to see if they can earn academic credit for things such as military credit, certificate training, and other work-related experiences.
Each student needing financial assistance to complete a degree program at Colorado Technical University Online is assigned a financial aid advisor. The advisor works with the student to help them secure the funds necessary, including obtaining federal financial aid, obtaining private loans, seeking grants and scholarships that they may qualify for, and even seeking tuition reimbursement from current employers. The university is affiliated with many other institutions, including the Project Management Institute, and Colorado Institute of Technology. In 1995 the university began offering doctorate degree programs.
