The Importance of an Online Education
Education is about opportunities. A quality education opens all types of doors.
Most people around the world never get the chance to finish high school, leave alone college. For these people, there are no opportunities to later on advance in life. This is especially true when these people get married and start raising families.
Parents around the world have a duty. Their duty is to teach their children the value of education and not only through their words but through their actions as well.
The value of getting an education, online or otherwise, is something that can overcome any socioeconomic boundaries.
Historically, parents who impart the value of a good education to their children raise children who succeed later on in life. It is also very common to find college graduates who, after graduating from college, do not work in the area of their major. These graduates end up taking jobs they may not necessarily like but have to do in order to pay the bills.
For these two types of people, the people who did not finish school and the college graduates who do not love their jobs, pretty much the only chance of getting ahead and doing the kind of job they love is getting an online education. Online education allows students the opportunity to expand their world views as well as their minds. It helps them to define a goal and achieve it, sacrificing along the way, and to begin looking beyond their short-term experiences.
While not all online students acquire these abilities, most do and they go on to become staunch advocates of getting an education.
In fact, government statistics show that adults who are later on educated in life or take online classes have a very high success rate since these adults are deadly focused on getting the kind of quality education that can improve their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
To minimize the stigma that may be associated with online education, most online schools are also now regulated by organizations for higher learning and when you visit the sites you almost always see a sign that says, “Accredited by…” While this is not enough just by itself, it does mean that the school is taking their job seriously and imparting valuable knowledge to their students.
The American workforce today is swelling with people who take a class or two online to expand their knowledge and/or gain a raise at their place of work. This is the ultimate proof that not only is online education working for them, but that it is here to stay and provides a very valuable service for the busy parent or career person who wants to expand their goals in life and rise up the corporate ladder.
